I worked at RAF Wunstorf Airbase with XI Squadron from Oct 1956 to Apr 1957 as an Air Wireless Fitter as part of my National Service. Three squadrons of DH Venom Mk4 FB twin boom single engine jet fighters, V (Canada), XI, and 266 (Rhodesia) moved there from Faßberg Air base Oct 1956 to join 541 Photo reconnaisance Squadron flying Meteors.
